NocNock is an incredible learning tool. Its user-friendly platform provides information on your personality and how to apply that information to further develop yourself and your relationships, particularly in a professional setting.
Upon downloading the app, you are prompted to fill out a survey regarding your personality in order to start building a profile. The survey is efficient yet accurate. With only 24 questions, you’re given a comprehensive breakdown of your personality and how this applies to your relationships. While the visual breakdown is hard to understand at first glance, once you look at the full report it becomes clear how extensive the personality description is. The report begins with what traits are included in your strengths, what this means in detail, and how it effects your work dynamic. The next part of the report discusses what traits are not prominent in your personality, what effects this has on how you are perceived, and how this plays out when working with others. The report also includes a section on your communication skills based on how high or low you scored in various characteristics, going so far as suggest adjustments to further develop yourself.
Once you have completed the survey, you can explore the other features of NocNock. The “connections” section of the app allows you to add others, including those nearby, from social media, or through email. Once you connect on the app, you’re able to see the visual graphic for each others’ characteristics. What becomes especially useful is that the app gives you tips on how to interact with each connection based on the unique personalities involved, leading to a stronger relationship.
With the “adaptive” feature you are able to take the initial survey while only considering how you are in a specific environment, such as work. This allows you to see how you are interacting within that environment and what you can do to build stronger relationships in that setting. The only downside to this is once you retake the adaptive survey, your previous adaptive survey results are not saved. For example, if you were to take the survey considering how you are in your home environment, then take the adaptive survey again for your work environment, you would not be able to see the home environment results again without retaking the survey a third time. That inconvenience aside, the adaptive section continues to be informative and easy to understand.
As a whole, the app is very well designed. The platform is easy to navigate, especially when paired with the prompted tutorials. For any questions, the app includes a well-written FAQ. The surveys are quick but thorough, with the reports being in-depth on what your results mean and how to apply the results to your life. Visual reports, as previously mentioned, are difficult to understand at first glance, but get easier to comprehend quickly once the app is used a few times. Also previously mentioned, the adaptive section only saves one adaptive report at a time, making the app apply itself mainly in one aspect of the user’s life. This is quite unfortunate, as its applications would be beneficial in multiple environments. These downsides don’t outweigh the pros, however. For anyone who wants to improve their communication skills or build stronger relationships, NocNock is a great app.
